Four board types, one clearer week

Rituals, Habits, Quests and Rewards solve different planning problems. Here is how to use each without overcrowding your board.

Do not turn everything into a daily

A common habit-tracking mistake is making every aspiration a daily checkbox. The result is a board that becomes impossible on a busy day and meaningless on a quiet one.

Habitra separates four kinds of intention because each deserves a different definition of success.

Match the item to the promise

Use the smallest category that tells the truth about the work.

  • Ritual: something scheduled that can genuinely be missed.
  • Habit: a repeatable positive or negative action with no deadline.
  • Quest: a one-off outcome, optionally split into steps.
  • Reward: something you choose to buy with the Embers you earned.

A board you can still read

Start with fewer items than your ambition suggests. A board should help you choose the next action, not display every possible version of your future.

Add complexity only when your existing board feels quiet. Progression is more satisfying when it reflects a system you can actually maintain.

Your next move

Turn the idea into one action

Open Habitra, choose the smallest useful next step, and give your future self a clear place to continue.
